How to remove author link using code editor

Mostly premium theme provide support but some not, if you want to remove admin link from blog post then you need to just remove some codes, so read full tutorial.

For Sydney theme

Login in wordpress admin panel and click on appearance tab > editor > inc > templates-tags.php

Find below codes and delete them and save the file:-

$byline = sprintf(

                        _x( ‘%s’, ‘post author’, ‘sydney’ ),

                        ‘<span class=”author vcard”><a class=”url fn n” href=”‘ . esc_url( get_author_posts_url( get_the_author_meta( ‘ID’ ) ) ) . ‘”>’ . esc_html( get_the_author() ) . ‘</a></span>’


For Swing Lite

You need to find appearance tab > editor > template-tags.php file in editor and find below codes and delete the codes and save the file.

$byline = sprintf(

                                    ‘%s’, ‘<span class=”author vcard”><a class=”url fn n ” href=”‘ . esc_url( get_author_posts_url(

get_the_author_meta( ‘ID’ ) ) ) . ‘”><i class=”fa fa-pencil-square-o”></i>’ . esc_html( get_the_author(),’swing-lite’ ) . ‘</a></span>’


For Interface

To go wp-admin>appearance>editor>Inc>structure>content-extensions.php

You need to find below codes and delete and save the file

<div class=”by-author vcard author”><span class=”fn”><a href=”<?php echo get_author_posts_url( get_the_author_meta( ‘ID’ ) ); ?>”

                        title=”<?php  esc_attr(the_author()); ?>”>

          <?php the_author(); ?>


For Nisarg

To go wp-admin>appearance>editor>Inc>template-tags.php

In the Line 124, you need to find below codes and delete and save the file
